I love painting portraits but I never seem to have enough time to paint one of my own horse, until now. I just finished this one of by girl Blythe. Yes, this is the horse that's been with me for almost 20 years. She was a sweet 2 year old filly when I purchased her and is now an even sweeter senior. When I was first training her under saddle she didn't do any of the baby things. She just acted as if she had always done it. This was great for me because she was my first attempt at starting a young horse. We trained to prix st. george and started piaffe but we lost interest in showing so stayed home and had fun just being us. As you can tell this horse has definitly captured my heart and I've been lucky enough to still have her with me.

Here is one of my own. This is a portrait of Amelia. It is done in oil paint on an 8"x10" canvas. Amelia is the sweetest kitty to my husband and me. But when company comes over she looks all welcoming and if anyone tries to pet her she'll first warn them with the "mad kitty meow", after that.... I just tell guests "don't pet the tiger cat". Maybe she's crabby because she's now 15 years old with some arthritis, (I just found out that in human years she's 76, yikes!). Anyway, I hope you enjoy seing the portraits I've painted!

Here is Bandit, this is another favorite portrait of mine. When I first met Bandit the owner told me not to look her in the eye. So, of course I didn't, but wondered what she would do about the one big eye that is the camera lense. As you can see she just stared right through it and posed perfectly.

This is a portrait of Fergison. I met him and his owner about 2 year ago. When she asked me to paint his portrait I felt very privileged. Fergison is one of those horses that is kind and willing, a gentle giant. He must have been sending me good vibes because this is one of those paintings that just flowed out of the canvas. Thanks Fergison!

Welcome! I have a passion for painting. In the coming days I will be sharing works that I have already done and adding new ones as I finish them. I'm just getting started so please bear with me.
